November Alabama ARES Updates
Greetings Alabama ARES members,
This is a reminder that the Alabama Emergency Net will still be held at 2100 hours Zulu. With Daylight Savings time now in effect, that means the net will be held at 3pm central time.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing everyone check in with us at 3pm Central Time on 3965khz. Don't forget that we also hold the Alabama Digital Emergency net on 3570khz with PSK-31 and RTTY modes.
Respectfully,
Mike Watkins

Alabama Emergency Net NCS
Hello ARES members,
I forgot to include the time of the Digital Net. It is always 15 minutes before the tactical voice net on 3965. You can find us on 3570khz on PSK31 and RTTY at 1445-1500 Central Time and then we switch to 3965 for the SSB net.
Digital communications are an important tool in the ARES response. During an actual widespread disaster, a lot of non-emergency traffic such as Health and Welfare traffic will be moved via digital modes when the Phone net is restricted to tactical traffic. (See the
Alabama Emergency Plan for more details on the Section website.)
Thank you.
Respectfully,
Mike
